ANIME GUARDIANS UPDATE 21 — CHRISTMAS RETURN
Summary: Update 21 brings back the Christmas event with 11 new Re:Zero–themed units, multiple large-scale event game modes, limited Christmas capsules, a new God Shield mechanic, fresh currencies, daily rewards, and broad quality-of-life improvements. The update focuses on long-form progression, infinite and wave-based challenges, and expanded unit management.

CHRISTMAS EVENT MODES
CITY OF SHATTERED FOREST
- Infinite wave game mode against powerful enemies.
- Earn drops over time the longer you survive.
- Features a Modifier Shop that can be purchased infinitely to enhance units.
MODIFIER CARD SHOP
- Golden Tribute: +2,500 Yen per wave
- Power Surge: +5% ATK, +2% SPA, +2% RNG, +5% Critical Chance
- Saiya: Each unit attack increases your own damage by 0.8%
- Time Snare: −2% enemy walk speed and −10% enemy active skill cooldown
PRIESTELLA
- 30-wave game mode with high-difficulty enemies.
- Earn drops used to evolve and obtain new characters.
- Reinhard (Strongest Human) must be protected; if he is defeated, the run fails.
ROSWAAL MANSION
- 30-wave game mode designed around lane complexity.
- Starts with three lanes that split into two additional lanes.
- All enemies are protected by God Shield mechanics.
LIMITED EVENT CAPSULES (EVENT SHOP)
- Christmas Capsules available for a limited time.
- Possible units include:
- Reinhard (Strongest Human) — Limited (0.09%)
- Regulus (Alpha Leonis) — Secret
- Minerva (Witch of Wrath) — Secret
- Typhon (Witch of Pride) — Secret
- Daphne (Witch of Gluttony) — Secret

NEW SHIELD MECHANIC
GOD SHIELD
- Reduces incoming damage by 70%.
- When a unit hits an enemy with God Shield, the enemy heals 10% of the shield value.
QUALITY OF LIFE AND ADDITIONS
- New map selection images added.
- New capsules introduced.
- God Shield system added globally where applicable.
- New cutscenes implemented.
- Additional bug fixes and general quality-of-life improvements.
- New UI icons added.
- New bundles available.
- New Christmas event currency added.
- New daily rewards system introduced.
- Artifacts can now be equipped directly to units from the item inventory, making management and setup easier.
