The Dueling Grounds Christmas Update has been released with brand new codes and plenty of general and combat changes. Here is the update log, which showcases all the changes.
Summary: The Christmas Update for Dueling Grounds introduces winter-themed map reworks, two new weapons including an early access option, an Early Access Gamepass system, combat balance adjustments, achievement progression changes, input responsiveness fixes, and a new redeemable code. A follow-up patch is scheduled to add the remaining cosmetics that were temporarily disabled.
Dueling Grounds Christmas Update
General Changes
• Lobby and Ranked maps reworked with a winter theme
• New weapon added: Kusarigama, a long-range weapon with hooking mechanics
• Early Access weapon added: Warhammer, obtainable via Gamepass
• New Early Access Gamepass permanently unlocks all current and future early access weapons
• Early Access weapons become free once the next early access weapon is released
• Achievement progression adjusted: Relentless and Deflectionist are now harder to progress, while Executioner has been made easier
• Fixed a one-frame delay affecting parry and dodge inputs
• Cosmetics encountered issues at launch and are temporarily disabled, with a patch planned to add all originally intended cosmetics
Combat Changes
• Increased recovery time after dodging
• Katana light attack speed restored with a 5% increase
• Daggers damage slightly increased
• Naginata movement speed and dash distance slightly reduced
• The final two lines stating “slightly slowed down” in the in-game patch notes were left by mistake and should be ignored
Upcoming Patch
• An additional patch will release to enable and add all planned cosmetics that were disabled due to technical issues
